The Laydown Stitch tool lets you generate a light background fill to flatten the nap of textured fabrics like terry toweling for subsequent embroidery. The Laydown Stitch tool can be accessed from Context toolbar, Lettering / Monogramming and Create Layouts toolboxes and can be used with or without objects selected.
1With no objects selected, clicking the Laydown Stitch tool will open the Laydown Stitch dialog.
2Use the default settings or change offset, shape, layers, stitch spacing, length and angles as required.
3Move the dialog away from the design and click the Preview button to check the light background fill for the design.
4Click OK to generate the light background fill for the design. The light background fill will be placed at the start of stitching sequence.
With objects selected, clicking the Laydown Stitch tool will also open the Laydown Stitch dialog. Clicking Preview or OK buttons will generate light background fill for selected objects only.
The default color will be the first unused color if there are any unused colors in design color palette. Otherwise the default color will be the last color in the palette.
The Standard Shapes gallery list in the Laydown Stitch dialog can be resized by dragging the bottom right hand corner of the list.
Laydown fill stitch type is accessible and editable from the Fill tab of the Object Properties docker.
